From this tourist’s point of view, she mentioned that tourists should travel to Orchid Island (Lanyu) as soon as possible before all traditions and customs of the aboriginal groups, Yami people in particular disappear into the commercialized tourism infrastructure. I believe the authenticity of Yami people’s culture and tradition is still of value and accurate to a certain extent as some of them are still mindful of tourists taking pictures of them fishing. However, it has lost some of its authenticity as some Yami tribesmen allow tourists to interview them about their lifestyles and posts them through YouTube, a widely known media channel.
